JACKSQNVILLE- The founders of Firehouse Subs recently presented a $7,000 check to Major James Seiler, area commander of the Salvation Army in Northeast Florida. The funds were collected through the First Responder Relief Fund, a program the Florida-based company implemented last year to raise money for the victims of natural disasters and other catastrophes."Weare grateful for the generosity of Firehouse Subs and its customers," said Seiler. "The Salvation Army is fortunate to have Northeast Florida's support in helping fellow Floridians."
Firehouse Subs launched the fundraiser in all of its locations, collect- .ing donations from its customers in a firefighter boot.The Salvation Army has been providing a number of critical services forthose affected'by hurricanes and other disasters since 1865and isa national "first response" to emergencies and disasters. Currently, the Salvation Army has designated
13incident command centers in affected areas that have been deploying Salvation Army emergency response teams to provide relief from the recent hurricanes.
